Shir haShirim (שיר השירים), the Song of Songs, referred to in Jewish tradition as the Song of Solomon, stands alongside the Psalms as one of the most poetic parts of the Hebrew Bible. With its romantic poetry, it has inspired countless poets and musicians – and, of course, given rise to dances.
On Thursday 11 June at 7 pm, experienced dance instructors Simone Kluge and Rebecca Arnd will introduce a selection of dances from the Jewish tradition and practise them with everyone. This offers a fresh way to experience the Song of Solomon, also known as the Song of Songs. Live music will be provided by Josepha Kießling on saxophone and Elisabeth Gilbert on ukulele. Refreshments, including drinks and snacks, will also be available.
The event is a collaboration with Foundation Pastor Gabriele Zander and Pastor Sven Hanson (Central German Bible Society).
