The Francke Foundations are located in the centre of Halle. You can reach us quickly by public transport. Please note that the Francke Foundations site is a traffic-calmed zone to protect the historic buildings and the people who study and work here. If you are arriving by car, please use the public car park. Parking spaces for people with disabilities are available.
Public Transport
You can easily reach us by public transport. Use the Franckeplatz or Steinweg tram stops. Further connections and timetables can be found on the HAVAG website.

Questions and Answers
For security reasons, we kindly ask you to store bags larger than A4 size in the lockers in the Historic Orphanage. A 1 euro coin is required as a deposit to use the lockers.
Food and drink are not permitted in the exhibition rooms. Liquids are also not permitted there. Our cloakroom is available for storing your personal belongings.
Yes, you may take photographs for private use throughout the exhibitions, but without flash. For commercial use of photographs or film recordings, please contact us in advance to obtain the appropriate permission.
Our Altan is open during regular opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am – 5pm, weather permitting. From there, you can enjoy a 360° view over Halle.
Animals are generally not permitted in the museum. Assistance dogs for people with disabilities are an exception.
In addition to the lockers on the ground floor, there is a limited storage area for strollers. We kindly request that you carry small children in your arms or in a baby carrier during your visit to the exhibition.
