Autumn Academy

An autumn holiday offer for young people

[Translate to English:]

Research, leisure time and new friendships – that's how you could describe the Student Academy! Every autumn holiday, up to 15 young people from Saxony-Anhalt spend a week conducting research at the Francke Foundations.

In small groups, they develop and work on their own questions on an overarching historical topic. They research sources in the archive or library, interview experts from the foundation's network and present their findings in a final presentation. The education team provides support with a team of specialist supervisors. For the rest of the day, two educational specialists are available as contact persons for the young people. In the afternoon, they might go to the swimming pool, and in the evening, they might have a barbecue or go to the cinema.

The Autumn History Academy is run in cooperation with the Saxony-Anhalt Ministry of Education. The academies are an extracurricular form of statewide gifted education for schoolchildren in Saxony-Anhalt.
