Here you will find an overview of our museum education programmes.
The history of the Francke Foundations consists of many stories. Our educational programme invites primary school and nursery groups (age 5 and above) to explore and (re)discover this historical cultural monument with its Historic Orphanage, Cabinet of Artefacts and Natural Curiosities, Library Hall Kulissenbibliothek and Utility buildings. We would particularly like to draw attention to how relevant some of these stories still are today.
Our educational offerings consist of a thematic introduction in the Krokoseum followed by a dialogue-based, moderated exhibition discovery tour. There is room for a variety of activities for research, discovery and participation. Our programmes aim to be age-appropriate, inclusive and relevant to everyday life, with multi-perspective approaches that incorporate the children's respective experiential knowledge.
Please note: During activities for children's groups and school classes, the teacher or accompanying adult is responsible for supervising the children.

School in the past
Our programmes for secondary levels I and II offer the opportunity to explore the themes, locations and sources of the Francke Foundations. In our educational work, we use dialogical, associative-artistic, research-based and reflective approaches. Individual experiential knowledge is at the heart of our work. In addition to the respective historical input, we also establish links to current discourses.
The LeoLab provides us with special facilities in the historic printing works. The LeoLab has a wide range of media equipment, its own workshop area focusing on printing techniques, and enough space for everyone to take a break together.
Please note: During activities for children's groups and school classes, the teacher or accompanying adult is responsible for supervising the children.
